I generally enjoyed Watch Dogs but noticed that a lot of people seemed disappointed in the story and in Aiden himself. I contribute this to some unfocused writing and the lack of moments in which people could really relate to Aiden. I personally thought that if the beginning of the game had been done differently, players may have understood Aiden more and connected with him, and I have essentially tried to rewrite the beginning of the story—the opening mission. I thought that if we had seen Aiden’s interaction with Lena and seen how much he cared about her (because it’s always better to show rather than tell) then the story may have had more substance. Obviously, this is more descriptive because it’s more focused on writing than a screenplay, so it is to be assumed that only some parts are inner thoughts and that some parts are conveyed simply by expressions. Thoughts on gameplay will be at the end of the piece.
